Evolving Automotive E/E Architectures: In-Vehicle Communication for Zonal Vehicles
📅 Date: 17.02.2026
🎟️ Speaker: Kristian Ivanov
About the Speaker:
Kristian holds a master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Systems for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles from Technical University – Sofia. Currently, he works as a software engineer at MBition GmbH, directly involved in the development, configuration, and optimization of AutoSAR software components related to in-vehicle communication of electronic modules.
He has previous experience in developing software components for ADAS and vehicle diagnostic systems, mainly working on closed-source projects for German automotive OEMs. In his free time, he researches and develops software-based control systems for electric vehicles, with a keen interest in modern software solutions and their application in the automotive industry.
ℹ️ About the Event:
This event is part of the Internet of Things user group.
Program Highlights:
The event focuses on the transition from Domain-based to Zonal E/E architectures in modern software-defined vehicles (SDV). The emphasis is on the main challenges of zonal architectures when designing safe network topologies.
Key topics include:
- Transition from Domain-based to Zonal E/E architectures – the impact on network topology.
- Service-Oriented Communication (SOA) in zonal vehicles – advantages, the role of SOME/IP, and efficient network topology design via gateway zonal controllers.
- Case study – implementation of Dynamic Lights functionality in Domain-based and Zonal architectures, key optimization factors.
- Overview of Security/Safety concepts.
- Q&A session.
The event is free but requires mandatory prior registration.
