📅 Date: 23.03.2026
🎙️ Speaker: Dimitar Danailov – software engineer with over 16 years of experience in scalable web and cloud systems
🔐 About the Event:
This event is part of the JavaScript user group.
In this lecture, we will explore how we practically scaled a Firestore-based system from approximately 50,000 to nearly 1,000,000 users in 18 months within the fan3.io project. Topics include:
- How we designed schema and indexes for high traffic
- Building complex dynamic queries on users (push filters, geofilters, age filters)
- Handling Firestore limitations (range + orderBy, GeoPoint, composite indexes)
- Trade-offs between flexibility and performance
The talk will focus on real production cases, best practices, and mistakes to avoid today.
There will be a Q&A session.
The event is free but requires prior registration.
🎯 Suitable for:
- Developers interested in Firestore and scalable systems
- JavaScript enthusiasts
- Professionals seeking practical insights into high-traffic database design
