Building Europe's Cloud Future: NeoNephos and the Platform Mesh - Mirza Kopic & Marvin Beckers

This talk introduces the open source ApeiroRA project, which serves as a reference architecture for establishing a multi-provider cloud-edge continuum across Europe. The speakers explore critical questions about unifying diverse service offerings and enabling communication in a common language among various providers. They highlight how a combination of Cloud Native building blocks, such as kcp and kube-bind, creates a prototype that integrates Kubernetes-like APIs for the consumption of services across multiple control plane instances, resulting in what they term the “Platform Mesh.” This session is tailored for operators of cloud service providers and internal developer platforms, offering insights into a technology that bridges both environments and establishes a standard for service consumption.
