DrupalCon Amsterdam 2019: CERN’s D8 Digital Portfolio

In this talk, Montaña Franco and Diego Catalan Garcia from Everis discuss the development of CERN's Digital Portfolio, a Drupal 8 multisite-oriented distribution aimed at enhancing online user experiences. The session delves into the design system and the conceptualization of components that form the architecture and interfaces necessary to meet CERN's content strategy. The speakers explain how they focused on improving the editorial experience by utilizing WebComponents and a configurable interface for customizing the components' design. Additionally, they address the integration of external CERN services with Drupal 8 and outline the Content as a Service (CaaS) framework, which allows content to be dynamically provided to various services hosted by the multisite core.
