DrupalCon Amsterdam 2019: Connecting Drupal to Print: Integration into an Adobe InDesign workflow

This talk presents an innovative interface developed by Christian Kreutzer of ppi media GmbH that connects Drupal with the editorial workflow and planning solution, CX Planner. The integration allows users to seamlessly import articles into InDesign documents, enabling content transfer through drag-and-drop functionality or a search feature. Key features include automated formatting of text using InDesign paragraph styles, inclusion of image credits and captions, and an efficient print preview system that facilitates editor updates in both Drupal and InDesign. The session also discusses an alternative Layout before Text workflow that aids collaboration with freelancers, along with additional functionalities such as a web-based user interface for publication management and high-quality PDF generation tailored to client specifications.
