The speaker introduces Docksal, an open-source tool created by FFW for defining and managing development environments with minimal configuration time and consistent setups across team members. Attendees will learn about the basic use of Docker for local development, the benefits of using Docksal over traditional virtual machine setups, and how to initialize development environments effortlessly. The session also covers integrating Docksal into existing projects and features advanced use cases, including running Drupal 7 and Drupal 8 sites side by side with different stack versions. Prior experience with VMs or Docker is beneficial but not mandatory.
