DrupalCon Nashville 2018: A smarter Way to Test Accessibility

This talk addresses the significance of accessibility in web development, highlighting the evolution from WCAG 1.0 to the upcoming WCAG 2.1. The speaker discusses the challenges faced in manually testing accessibility and introduces the importance of automating accessibility tests as part of a Continuous Integration (CI) process to minimize human error and streamline workflows. Three tools are compared: Google's Lighthouse, which uses Deque's aXe-core rules engine; Tenon.io, a popular software as a service; and the WAVE API from WebAIM.org, which offers both SaaS and self-hosted options. Attendees will learn about the benefits of these tools and how to effectively integrate them into their CI processes.
