DrupalCon Vienna 2017: Using Drupal for Digital Humanities projects

This talk explores the evolution of Digital Humanities (DH) over the past decade, emphasizing computational methods utilized by humanities scholars and the impact of the digital turn on research practices. The speaker begins with a brief definition of DH and highlights several projects that incorporate DH methods, illustrating key approaches and frequently used digital tools. The session also discusses the FAIR data principles—Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable—as they relate to important DH workflows. Additionally, the speaker examines the application of Drupal in DH projects, specifically focusing on WissKI, a Virtual Research Environment based on Drupal 8, while advocating for deeper integration of Drupal into DH workflows.
