Serverless Java Web Applications on AWS Lambda with Micronaut Quarkus & Spring Boot | Vadym Kazulkin

This talk presents and compares various approaches for developing, running, and optimizing Java web applications on AWS Lambda, utilizing the Micronaut, Quarkus, and Spring Boot frameworks. The speaker discusses strategies to reduce cold start times of Lambda functions through AWS Custom Lambda Runtime, GraalVM Native Image, and AWS's SnapStart, leveraging Firecracker microVM snapshots and CRaC runtime hooks. Techniques for SnapStart priming are also examined to enhance Lambda performance, alongside an exploration of the AWS Lambda Profiler for Java to identify optimization opportunities. Additionally, the talk covers various methods to improve both cold and warm start times for Lambda functions.
