Yes, thanks Mike. And uh good morning everyone. Actually, it's my second time OS X. Last time is in 2024. I still remember it's my professor, also my current boss, Professor Hai Wu Chun, who was on the stage for the keynote, and now it's turned out to be me. So, thank you very much for that having me here. And uh my name is uh Yu Tao Liu from

Huawei Hilbert Research Center in Dresden. I'm very delighted today to follow Mike because what I'm about to share is the uh story where the how OpenAtom and the Eclipse are working together to build something bigger than anyone could do it alone. So, this is my topic. And the collaboration between Open Harmony and Eclipse Aneuver is a historical. The first time two major open source foundation are working

together and have engaged in such deep technical uh collaboration. It's not just about sharing code, it's about like uh cultivating a truly global ecosystem, which is for open intelligent devices. And the key mechanism is in the Aneuver specification. It's a super set of Open Harmony specification. We're fully aligned with uh EU regulation, which means the developers and the device makers can get the same technical base, which

is widely and globally used. Actually, this collaboration has already producing some real results. Last year, Aneuver brought Open Harmony based challenges into a hackathon 2025, which is the largest uh stationary uh hackathon in Europe hosted by TU Munich. This is the first time Open Harmony have its programming competition uh in Europe outside of China even. Uh which is with more than 1,000 developers participated, and their enthusiasm

have proved one thing that the Open Harmony technology has globally appeared. So, let me take a step back and uh talk about why this matters. While operating system of uh intelligent devices are one of the most important technology areas of our time. So, think of our smart devices as a human body. Then operating system is a central nervous system. Downwards, it can drive the semiconductor supply chain

like chipset, memory, storage, connectivity. While upwards, it serves the end users and developers. It's a key to the performance, to the competitiveness, as well as the ecosystem enablement. Its driven is evolution is driven by three forces. The hardware advancements, the application uh model evolution, as well as the operating system technology innovation itself. So, now actually we are entering to an era where the uh intelligent devices are

moving towards L3 to L4 intelligence. Where the AI actively uh break down task and works independently with human, as well as deliver some expert level services. Here comes the question, how can the OS evolve to support this? And on this path, we find there's four key challenges. The overhead for the AI integration, the performance limitation, and some ritual needs for the interaction, as well as security and

privacy problem. And all of these challenges require a rethinking of the OS from the ground up. We see three models on the uh OS and AI integration. The first is AI as a SO. This is porting the AI into the operating system. It works, but the overhead may be very high. The second one is LLM as OS. Just replacing the current operating system with such large language

model, which sounds very promising and powerful. However, it breaks the existing software ecosystem. And what's more importantly, it is lack of deterministic hardware control. And the third one is which is also our choice is the deep OS AI integration. Try to embedding the models and agents to the OS while preserving the full software compatibility. And this is the path OpenHarmony is taking. So, now let me show

you how OpenHarmony deliver on this vision. OpenHarmony is a open source the foundation the OS space for the connected intelligent world. Huawei's HarmonyOS build on it for the consumer devices. And the third party partners create their own distributions for the industry from like automotive to health care and so on. They share the same base foundation, but they can provide specialized products. And the vision of OpenHarmony is

to build a distributed and foundation for the fully connected world. It's unified ecosystem and we hope open source for win-win. And we think there are generally about five key architectural characteristics. The decoupled architecture with elastic deployments, which can scaling from the IoT sensors to the powerful devices. And the heterogeneous concurrency with vertical integration coordinating CPU, GPU, MPU for smooth experience in this post mobile era. And the

native security with privacy protection at every layer and simplified the deployments, Uh, means you can write once and try to deploy your code And also, the last but not least is the seamless cross device uh, transitioning, which means your entire device network can work as one system. So, here is the historical view. The feature phone just uh, had everything tightly coupled. The smartphone era, which tried to

decouple the application and give us the mobile ecosystem. And now, OpenHarmony nowadays try to drive to next leap. The distributed device uh, collaboration, the AI agents, the the on-demand application migration, as well as some intelligent integration far beyond the just touch. And also, we are we have tried to establish some kind of technical steering group, for example, AI agent TSG, which trying to bringing the industry and

academia together to build OS-level agent infrastructure. Uh, considering like a communication protocol, uh, some uh, orchestration framework, AI agents, as well as some AI agents uh, self-evolution. In a parallel, some other PMC like embodied intelligent PMC, they are tackling the convergence uh, with AI for AI with the physical world. Uh, we have uh, investigated in topic like uh, uh, uh, like a age inference, like embodied agents,

and the heterogeneous computing. And the goal of moving the embodied AI into the uh, from the lab demo to the real devices, I think it's ready on about auto box. At the kernel level, uh, we are trying advancing the concurrency provable. And we our team have actually pioneered the formally verified system. For example, the Ref FS in OSDI, the Atom FS in SOS P. Also, like our

work Vsync project, which won the best paper in ASPLOS, uh the top conference. And all of these work have already contributed to the OpenHarmony with the uh production-ready libraries. And we encourage every community to try it and join the effort. And every operating system can thrive only with uh technology, ecosystem, and talents working together. I have covered technology. Now comes with the OpenHarmony is the fastest-growing open-source

root community in the world. There are already more than 10,000 community contributors and 130 million lines of code, 70 plus industry distributions, as well as 100 1,600 plus software hardware products. It's already a thriving and diverse community. And Huawei already have already shipped more than 50 million HarmonyOS devices based on OpenHarmony. There are more than 60 types of terminal devices, uh 30,000 application and the meta services.

And HarmonyOS 6 was released in December last year. Beyond Huawei, there are also more than uh distributions, as well as 1,600 products, which bring the OpenHarmony from uh truly like transportation, the uh finance, uh industry control, mining, and so on. And all of these have proved that OpenHarmony is already the digital foundation of all industries. It's also fully in some top research area. We have published paper

in like OSDI, ASPLOS, SOS P, EuroSys, and so on, covering different topics, including like parallel rendering, on-device LLM inference, static analysis framework and so on. And all of these like some kind of kind of work also won a best paper in different conference. And all of these have proved that OpenHarmony kernel is not only the foundation for production but also the fund the platform for the And

we trying to we are trying to bring OpenHarmony from China to global through the only through our academic through some competition like hackathon as well as through events like today. That is just we believe some this great technology deserve the global stages. So this is the last page. And speaking of the global stage, I'm very happy to announce that our OpenHarmony Technology Conference 2026 will be held

in this October in Prague. So I'm warmly welcome all of you to join. The theme will be like OpenHarmony times AI powering the next intelligent operating Thank you very much for your attention.
