Agenda:
Design patterns are everywhere, as they are the key to managing dependencies between software entities. Knowledge of these patterns is an essential part of every programmer's toolbox. Despite their importance, some common misconceptions exist, especially about frequently used design patterns.

In this talk, we will closely examine the Decorator and Adapter design patterns. Both are widely used—for example, within the C++ standard library—and have clearly defined functions. However, because they are structurally similar, they are often confused, even in the standard library.

We will clarify these two design patterns and highlight misconceptions, providing examples including those from the C++ standard library and learning how to distinguish between them properly.

Q&A session to follow.
