📅 Date: April 30, 2026

🎙️ Speaker: Viktoria Veleva – Senior Lawyer and Legal Expert in Digital Law, Bulgaria

🔐 About the Event:

Watch a free online seminar titled "Security Breach: What Does 'Data Breach' Mean and Why It Affects Everyone?" on April 30, 2026 (Thursday) at 7:00 PM, hosted by Viktoria Veleva.

Data security breaches are no longer exceptions but increasingly part of daily realities for organizations. They can arise not only from hacker attacks but also due to human errors, technical gaps, poor process organization, or the actions of partners and suppliers.

This seminar will explore what a data breach actually is, how different types of breaches are classified, and why seemingly "small" incidents can lead to serious legal and practical consequences. Common scenarios such as lost devices, misdirected emails, unauthorized system access, and malware will be presented.

A special focus will be on how breaches affect all participants in the data processing chain – administrators, processors, and data subjects themselves. The seminar will clarify when there is an obligation to notify the Data Protection Commission, when affected persons must be informed, and how to assess the risk to their rights and freedoms. The content aligns with current practices and regulations from the Data Protection Commission.

🎯 Suitable For:

  • Lawyers
  • IT professionals
  • Managers
  • Anyone who wants to understand why a "data breach" is not just a technical problem but an issue that concerns everyone
