The Gap Between Clean Diagrams and Production Reality

The Gap Between Clean Diagrams and Production Reality

19 May 2026 19:30 Online Български Event Website

📅 Date: 19.05.2026

🎙️ Speaker: Boris Petrov – Development Tech Lead at DSS, Bulgaria

🔐 About the event:

This event is part of the Software Architecture user group.

Program:

In software projects, we often start with a well-structured world of diagrams and analyses – business requirements, BPMN processes, architectural diagrams, UML models, sequence diagrams, activity flows, and security requirements. At this stage, everything looks clear, organized, and predictable.

However, reality is often different. The real challenge begins when we must transform all these artifacts into working software that meets business needs, respects technical constraints, and successfully reaches production.

In this talk, Boris will share practical examples and lessons learned from real projects in the banking sector related to digitization of internal business processes and building internal systems.

Topics covered:

  • What a project looks like on paper – the world of diagrams;
  • Clash with reality – what is missing between the diagrams and real implementation;
  • From diagrams to a working solution;
  • Specific practical examples;
  • Lessons learned;
  • Q&A session.

The event is free but requires prior registration.
