DrupalCon Baltimore 2017: Drupal 6 End-of-Life: What happened? What can we learn for the future?

In this talk, the speaker discusses the end-of-life (EOL) of Drupal 6 and the unprecedented community response to its support being dropped. This session examines the decision to extend Drupal 6's support by three months and the subsequent security measures taken by the Drupal Security Team while managing support for multiple versions simultaneously. The speaker, a member of the Drupal Security Team and a co-founder of a Long-Term Support vendor, invites the audience to engage in a discussion on the effectiveness of these measures and how future transitions, particularly with regard to Drupal 7, can be improved.
