DrupalCon Barcelona 2015: Inclusive Design: an Introduction to Accessibility Whys and Hows

This talk explores the importance of inclusive design for digital content, highlighting its emerging status as both a legal requirement and a beneficial business strategy. The speaker addresses key questions about the advantages of accessible content, relevant legal frameworks such as the European Standard EN 301 549 and US Section 508, and the necessity of integrating accessibility early in the design process. Additionally, strategies and best practices are discussed, including preparing a business case for inclusive content, evaluating authoring tools from an accessibility standpoint, and involving users in planning and testing. This updated session builds on insights shared at the Write The Docs 2015 conference in Prague.
