This talk focuses on the Admin UI and JavaScript Modernization initiative aimed at enhancing the content authoring and site administration experience in Drupal using modern JavaScript principles. The speaker discusses the current modernization efforts, including the development of a limited extension mechanism and essential features for a new JavaScript-based user interface. Additionally, the session covers the creation of a component library tailored for Drupal-specific UI patterns, as well as an overview of user research comparing authoring tools across various content management systems to inform design decisions. The talk also addresses the design system creation and the restyling of the admin interface to implement the new design system prior to fully transitioning to React.
