Project Lightning Talk: Opening/Intro - Robert Sirchia

This session introduces the CNCF Project Lightning Talks at KubeCon 26 in Amsterdam. So, first of all, I want to welcome everybody to the CNCF Project Lightning Talks out here at KubeCon 26 in Europe or Amsterdam, for that matter. My name is Robert. I'm going to be your MC today. My job is to make sure that people get on stage and off stage. Um but there's some format things I want to talk about. Make sure everyone knows. each talk is

15 or, excuse me, 5 minutes with the exception of the first one, which is 15. So, we have a special one that talks about the landscape. Um and I'll introduce that as we go. Uh every talk is then going to be 5 minutes, except for the first one, with a 2-minute break. We'll be here all day with a few breaks, but we're going to keep to the

schedule. So, if we run ahead of time, people are at this, we're going to try to keep to that schedule. So, if you come in and it's quiet, or you come back and it's quiet, that's the reason why. This is a very important part of the conference here, because this gives projects that do not have the love, the visibility, the ability to showcase what they're working on.

Uh I've done a couple of these talks before, and they're informative. But with any of our projects, they need your support. So, if you see something you like, you hear something you like, go to the landscape, and Katherine will talk about the complexities of the landscape. Um navigate that beast, find the project, and learn how to get involved, because here with any of our projects, the support

that these they need is not is pretty much your time. So, if you hear something, we encourage you to come and look at that. I'll be sitting up front if you have any questions. There's some staff in the back who have um who are checking in some of the speakers. If you're a speaker coming in, you're sitting in the back, you probably want to come up here.

We have some spots. Um and come up and do it. If we have some time, and you want to come and quickly test your uh audio video, please do so. That's okay. But we'll be showing people on and off stage. If you're a speaker and you have a video, that is okay. Unless that video has audio that's we'll try to accommodate, but it's we're not really set

up to do so. Okay? All right.
