In this GrafanaCON talk, Drive Terra explains how they connected IoT sensors across their entire e-bike fleet (GPS, voltage, fault codes, and motor data updated every 10 seconds) via MQTT to MongoDB and PostgreSQL, then unified it all in Grafana. The result: a live digital twin of each bike, battery lifecycle tracking across swap stations, role-specific dashboards for fleet managers, logistics coordinators, and finance teams, and Grafana-powered control buttons that let station operators start or stop stations without leaving the dashboard. Grafana alerts replaced ad-hoc WhatsApp messages and Excel spreadsheets for both engineering and non-technical teams alike. The key lesson: start with one use case (battery health), gather feedback from non-technical stakeholders, and treat them as your champions.
