Architectural measures for achieving a reliable Eclipse S-CORE based system
About this talk
This talk presents architectural measures for achieving reliability in software-defined vehicle (SDV) systems, focusing on the integration of Eclipse S-CORE and AUTOSAR Classic within zonal architectures. Presented by Isabella Stilkerich and Johannes Lex from Schaeffler Technologies, the session explores the challenges posed by heterogeneous software stacks and the coordination required between distributed ECUs and central computing units under different execution models. The speakers discuss fault tolerance mechanisms, emphasizing the process of transferring critical functionality from a failing ECU to a backup node using SOME/IP communication protocols, alongside an innovative shift from hypervisor-based recovery to container-based solutions. Additionally, the talk addresses architectural quality through formal analysis utilizing the ISO 25010 model, verifying properties such as timing behavior, memory integrity, and data flow to enhance reliability in SDV environments.
