OpenFest 2025 is the largest event in Bulgaria dedicated to free and open-source software, free culture, and the free exchange of knowledge. The festival will take place on October 18-19, 2025, at the John Atanasoff Forum in Sofia Tech Park. This annual event brings together enthusiasts, developers, and innovators to celebrate the spirit of open collaboration.
OpenFest aims to promote projects implemented using free and open-source software and to provide a platform for exchanging ideas and best practices in this field. Additionally, the festival offers space for the expression of free art. The motto of OpenFest is "Let's share the freedom!". The first edition of the festival took place in 2003 in Sofia and has been held annually since then.
OpenFest is a non-commercial event organized by volunteers with the support of the Bulgarian free and open-source software community, as well as numerous partners and friends.
